About Recording Studio

The Audio Recording Studio of the former Granada Studios – now the musical heart of the Manchester Studios – is steeped in history. From providing rehearsal space for The Beatles to staging the very first TV performance of Joy Division, the Recording Studio has seen it all.

The studio ceiling has a full acoustic treatment to enhance sound, the studio floor is a half wood / half carpet and incorporates an overhead audience gantry to facilitate 30 – 50 people. With adjoining gallery space and acoustic rooms this studio can accommodate bands of all types including orchestral as well as the provision for voice overs and sound capture. The studio can be used independently but because it is equipped with fibre links to the site infrastructure giving it connectivity to the Broadcast studios makes it possible for duel use for filming and broadcast.

Access to dressing rooms, star dressing rooms, superstar dressing rooms, green rooms and makeup / wardrobe department are all closely linked and have easy access to the recording studio. Audience entrance and holding areas available in close proximity, providing separate spaces for talent and audience.
